CoBank recognizes the importance of education, and
is dedicated to developing the leaders of the future. Through our
college relations program, we work with several U.S. universities to
provide annual scholarships.
CoBank has established relationships with six universities for its scholarship programs, each of
which have shown a strong commitment to agribusiness, cooperative
education and research. These schools also sponsor academic programs
supporting CoBank's recruitment needs in agribusiness, business
administration, economics, and finance. The
universities we work with include:
- Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado
- University of Minnesota, St. Paul, Minnesota
- Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas
- Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas
- Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas
- University of California-Davis, Davis, California
Scholarship Guidelines
Annually, CoBank provides academic scholarships of various amounts to
qualified students at each of the targeted schools. By June 1 of each
year, university faculty members will be asked to recommend students who
are studying agribusiness or a related discipline. Additionally, a
course of study in finance and/or banking is preferable.
Nominees should have demonstrated academic excellence, be enrolled in
their university's undergraduate program, and be a sophomore or
junior-level student. Selections will be made on the basis of a
student's academic achievement, leadership and overall accomplishments.
Scholarships will be awarded for the following academic year.
Scholarship notifications will be made through faculty members at each
university.
How to Apply for an Academic Scholarship
If you are interested in applying for an academic scholarship, please
contact a faculty member associated with the agribusiness and/or
cooperative education program at your university for more information.
Faculty members will be asked to supply general data, academic history,
and achievement information about each student nominated for a CoBank
academic scholarship. You will want to have written information
available about yourself for faculty members to facilitate the
nomination process.
