Position Summary:
Analyzes, designs, develops, configures,
tests and implements changes to new and existing
custom and third party applications at CoBank.
Provides business hours and after hours support
for applications already in production.
Provides technical direction and guidance to
less experienced technical staff.
Knowledge and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science,
information systems, engineering or relevant
discipline and 6 – 10 years experience,
preferably in banking or financial services
industry; or appropriate combination of
education and experience. Experience with XML
preferred. Advanced experience in specific
programming languages, databases, and
development tools relevant to CoBank’s
application environment. Advanced experience in
ETL tools (Informatica, Hyperion) and report
writers (Hyperion, Cognos, Improptu).
Intermediate knowledge of Source Code Control
tools such as PVCS or Visual Source Safe.
Intermediate knowledge in at least one system
design/development methodology (RUP, SDLC, BIM,
etc.). Intermediate knowledge of Crystal
Reports or similar reporting tools, automated
job scheduling tools such as Control-M or
Autosys, and Microsoft Server products,
including Biztalk and Sharepoint, Oracle
(PL/SQL), Unix, or Peoplesoft (SQR & PeopleTools)
preferred.
Other Requirements:
Excellent problem solving, troubleshooting, oral
and written communications skills. Ability to
work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to provide first level of
advice/assistance on procedures and work methods
for software engineers and application
developers. Ability to define and implement new
technical direction and to identify and
participate in issue resolution and process
refinement. Willingness to broaden technical,
functional, and industry skill base and to keep
current with industry information and technical
knowledge databases. Occasional travel
required. Available for off-hours, on-call
production support.
